The Intelix MARC Room Combine System is designed
specifically for applications with moveable walls, including hotels,
convention centers, conference centers, houses of worship, and multi-use
facilities. MARC allows you to design, program, and install
your sophisticated room combine system in a fraction of the time it
would take with other solutions.
The secret is in MARC's embedded logic--all of the logic for routing
inputs to outputs, combining and separating rooms, incorporating paging,
and managing remote controls is pre-programmed so all you have to do is
enter simple data. Plus, the MARC system is flexible enough to allow
RS232 and internet control, automatic wall sensors, custom room
topologies, and custom remote controls. Design with Intelix and
design with intelligence.
Audio
distribution with combining logic.MARC mixers
have all the embedded logic necessary to manage the audio flow of
dozens of room group sizes and topologies, and setup is a breeze.
Mic preamps and auto-ducking are built in, so there is no need for
extra components cluttering your rack.
Panel
control, hands-free, or RS232. Intelix offers
several options for controlling MARC's combine functions. The
Intelix RC
panel uses an easy room layout interface to merge or
separate audio with the push of a button. For hands free combining,
Intelix offers remote sensor controls mounted on the movable walls
themselves. And like all other Intelix matrix mixers, you can also
control MARC using your favorite RS232 control system.
Complete
systems mean less hassle. The MARC series give you all the system gear you
need for flexible manages audio. This even includes wall-mount source
input panels, local and program volume controls, and an easy to
use contact closure interface for integration with other components.
Design
on PC, Download on Site, Manage Live Audio. All of the matrix mixer's audio routing is configured
using MARC Designer Software, which provides a contractor-friendly
user interface for setup and control. Build all user control stations
for audio management and combine control in a virtual environment
on your PC, then download your program file into the matrix mixer's
internal memory. Once successfully programmed, use the MARC software
to control live audio environments.
MARC
Pre-built Room Combine Kits.Prebuilt MARC Room Combine Kits offer time-saving,
one-step solutions for comprehensive audio room combine installations--simply
unpack, wire, connect and go. Systems arrive fully labeled and
ready for installation--no programming is necessary.
Software-guided
design setup.
A guided software wizard walks you through the application design
process as you build your room combine system on your PC in a virtual
environment. When you're ready for installation, simply download your
finished program file into the rack-mounted mixer, and all of the user
remotes on the building's wired data bus recognize their assigned
functionality
Battery
backup. All response curves, presets, and
current audio matrix values are stored internally in battery-backed
nonvolatile RAM. Even in the event of a power failure, the matrix
mixer saves its settings, ramping all levels back to their previous
values five seconds after power restoration.
One-Touch
or "Smart" Combining. For One-Touch Room Combine, use the MARC Room
Combine Panel. Each of MARC's rack-mounted Room Combine Panels
is custom labeled to identify the rooms within the topology. These
panels feature low profile membrane switches for simple combining
and separating of rooms. There is also a security key lock on
each panel to thwart unauthorized users from changing your system
settings.
For "Smart" Room Combine, use
an Intelix Comet 8 I/O Remote and Magnetic Wall Sensors. "Smart"
Room Combine employs magnetic read switches which are mounted
on the movable walls of the room combine layout. These switches
have a three inch gap tolerance -- meaning the switch will indicate
its closed status when the magnets are within three inches of
each other -- and they connect to the Intelix Comet 8 I/O remote
device. The Comet 8 I/O connects to the ReO bus of the MARC matrix
to send wall status signals to the matrix which combines or separates
the rooms in the system, based on these wall status signals.
Connectivity.
Every MARC Series matrix facilitates serial communication via RS232,
TCP/IP LAN, and the internet. Front and rear panel RS232 communication
ports allow quick onsite diagnostics, and an optional PCMCIA Logic Card
allows up to eight contact closure inputs with eight output indicators.
Contol.
Free MARC Designer Software allows you to monitor, control, and
troubleshoot an entire MARC room combine system from any remote location
with an internet connection. Included real-time event scheduling
software allows you to program repetitive or unique audio activities in
a simple platform closely resembling standard PDA scheduling software.
Security.
To ensure only legitimate users connect to and control the MARC matrix,
MARC Designer Software includes an authorized client list providing
internal firewall protection from unauthorized ethernet connections.

the required amount of audio inputs and outputs. Keep
in mind that stereo sources/destinations populate
two inputs/outputs.
Round the number of the
audio inputs to the nearest derivative of eight and
place them within Intelix's part numbering system.
2) Specify Control
Determine if wall state changes
are automatic or manual.
If automatic, specify Wall
Sensors, Wall Status Panels, and a Comet 8-RJ12.
If manual, specify a
Room Combine Panel, software, or an RS232 controller.
Determine if in-room remote
control is required.
If required, specify
Intelix RCS room control stations, individual
Comet remotes, or RS232 controllers. If ordering custom
RCS remotes (RCS-Custom), specify button
labeling. If ordering individual Comet remotes, specify
model and mounting type. Specify one Comet power supply
(Comet PS) per 12 individual Comet remotes or
4 RCS room control stations.
Determine if logic control
is required.
If required, specify
one COMET-8-LOGIC.
3) Specify Enhancement
Components
Determine if audio preamplification
or phantom power is required.
If required, specify one Mic/Line
Card for every eight channels.
To simplify
wiring, Intelix recommends Comet-BA4 and Comet-BA11
