RELEASES 1X4 VGA, STEREO AUDIO, AND IR/RS232 OVER TWISTED
PAIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Middleton,
WI- Intelix LLC, U.S. manufacturer of audio/video equipment
and software, recently announced the release of the DIGI-VGASD-T4R,
a professional-grade active balun set which distributes a
single VGA video and stereo audio source to four remote destinations
via a single twisted pair cable. In addition, the system also
extends RS232 and IR control signals over the same structured
cable, thereby consolidating multiple bulky cable runs.
“Consolidating cable runs is a major issue for audio-visual
installers,” explains Cameron Smith, Intelix National Sales
and Marketing Manager. “Historically, audio and video required
separate runs, and if you were transmitting VGA you could
expect fairly bulky cable. Baluns simplified the process by
routing audio and video—even high-definition—over a single,
inexpensive twisted pair cable. However, distributing IR or
RS232 for control remained an issue and often a separate pull
was needed. The Intelix DIGI-VGASD series solves the problem,
allowing VGA, stereo audio, and IR/RS232 transmission over
a single unshielded Cat 5 or Cat 6 cable.”
The DIGI-VGASD-T4R features 1600x1200 VGA video performance,
high-fidelity 20Hz to 20kHz audio performance, and IR or bi-directional
RS232 extension up to 350 feet. In addition, the DIGI-VGASD-T4R
send balun features local monitor support and the DIGI-VGASD-T4R
receive balun features dual outputs and built-in video equalization
ensuring skew-free video performance. The system is linkable
for additional remote destinations.
Each balun set includes one 1x4 distribution amplifier send
unit, one receive unit, and two power supplies. Additional
modular or wallplate receive baluns may be purchased separately.
All components are manufactured in the United States.
Retail price for the Intelix DIGI-VGASD-T4R is $799.95. Retail
price for additional receive baluns start at $349.95.
