and Intelix Partner to Provide Remote Display Capability
2400 Series Touch Screen
Utilizes Intelix USB Balun Kit to Extend Connection Capabilities
Chicago,
IL, August 2007 –NextWindow, the leader in the design and
manufacture of optical touch-screen overlays and touch components,
has partnered with Intelix LLC, to provide increased usage
and connection capabilities for NextWindow’s 2400 Series of
interactive touch displays. Ideal for classrooms and conference
rooms, the NextWindow-Intelix combination of technologies
takes the expense and hassle out of installation by routing
video and USB signals to a remote computer through standard
CAT 5/6 cabling.
The Intelix DIGI-USB-F balun kit extends a standard speed
USB signal up to 330 feet and a full speed USB signal (12
Mbps) up to 100 feet over structured pair cabling, such as
Cat 5 or Cat 6. Prior to the DIGI-USB-F, remote USB devices
such as cameras, printers, scanners, keyboards, and mice were
limited to only 16 feet via direct USB cables or required
expensive secondary network equipment.
“The NextWindow-Intelix combination is perfect for conference
and training room applications where the computer is often
times remote to the display and the touch screen,” said Anthony
Uhrick, NextWindow’s VP of Sales and Martketing for North
America.
“We are excited to offer our DIGI-USB-F USB extender to NextWindow,”
states Cameron Smith, Intelix Sales and Marketing Manager,
“The first product in our new DigiCat Series of high-performance
baluns, the DIGI-USB-F is perfect for sending USB signals
more than 16 feet—the current maximum length of USB cables.”
NextWindow’s 2400 Series overlay can turn any large display
into an interactive touchscreen by attaching to any manufacturer's
LCD or plasma display, from 23" to 65". Within a
few minutes, you can convert a standard display to an interactive
touch screen with full mouse functionality. Combine this with
exciting interactive software, and you can create a high-impact,
interactive display for many purposes—ideal for digital signage,
advertising, wayfinding, and education in conference or classrooms.
